Police investigating homicide on High Street

An investigation is underway into a reported shooting on High Street that left one person dead.

According to information released by the the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, North Attleborough Police responded to reports of a shooting at 64 High St. at 4:01 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived at the three-story building, they found a 38-year-old male victim, later identified as Peter C. Schifone, in his apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Local and state police set up a perimeter around the home and could be seen speaking with neighbors and looking through a dumpster outside a nearby building. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
