For the week of Dec. 3-9, the North Attleboro Fire Department responded to 81 calls for emergency services.

  • 45 of these were EMS in nature, with 30 requiring advanced life support measures
  • Seven motor vehicle collisions with injuries/ evaluations/ transport to an emergency department needed
  • The remaining responses were due to a variety of other needs, including persons stuck in an elevator, outside burning investigations, alarms sounding, and other unspecified factors.

Training for the newest members of the department continues through the next several weeks. At present, there are three probationary firefighters assigned to the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy recruit training program, with three more scheduled to attend beginning in January.

Paramedic school also continues for numerous new recruits with completion times over the next year varying widely. All levels and experiences of shift assigned. Members took part in multiple on-duty training activities during the week including a presentation from Boston Medflight about operational procedures and shift training of Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations.
